I’m not latina either but Spanish was my major in college and I’m trying to speak spanish with my 20 month old daughter but it is proving difficult. She’s only recently started to try to imitate words in english so I’m going to be concentrating on using spanish too. She does recognize the parts of the face when I say them in Spanish and points to the right part. I think so far nariz is her favorite word. My favorite spanish expression is “mi tesoro” which is what I call her (most of the time!) :)

My daughter is 3 now and knows a lot of words but her fist word was busura. She’s always offer to take everyone’s things to the busura.s

My daughter is 2 years old and we’re working on body parts in Spanish right now as well as the numbers. Her second word in Spanish, first was Mami, was of course “Upa” and still says it to no end. Her second one was “tillas” for zapatillas – she loves her slippers!

And thanks for blogging about these toys. I’ve never heard of them but I’m headed to their site now as Christmas is right around the corner.

I’m not Latina but my husband’s Puerto Rican so my (3 yr old)daughter is…My Spanish is not so great, but I’m trying to learn & we’re trying to teach our daughter so the flashcards would be great for us both! I’m not sure what Lila’s first Spanish word was-alot of it comes from “Dora”, so “Saltay”(jump) is a big one. But recently I told her “thank you,” & she said “de nada” which was pretty cool to hear(especially since she’s on the Autism Spectrum & not consistently verbal-another reason these flashcards would be good.)

I am not Hispanic either, but my brother married a wonderful lady from Mexico. They are expecting their 1st baby and are to be induced on Wednesday! I can’t wait to see my “sobrino”, which is my favorite word! :) Been checking out Ingenio’s site to see what he will NEED us to get him! Loads of goodies :)

my little girl’s first spanish word was pollita, which she calls “pota”. she now says “pio pio” too.

I obviously did not feel compelled to read the actual contest rules, so here goes. My boys’ first words were “bus” (in Spanish) and “luna.” At least, I think they were!
