Oh man how true for me too! I’m a dominican that can barely merengue. For my prom (oh 14 years ago!) I had my little sis give me enough remedial salsa lessons to prevent me from making a fool of myself in front of my class. Still don’t get it but I can fake it if you don’t look too closely.

Ha. My Chilean host family tried to teach me to dance cumbia and merengue. I had to tell them I was Norwegian and that we are a stiff people whose hips do not move.
