Tonight, ABC launches a sitcom starring la bella Sofia Vergara as a hot Colombian woman (no stretch there) married to much-older and former Married with Children star, Ed O’Neill, (kind of a stretch). The show, Modern Family, has gotten great reviews and Vergara has been applauded for being funny and fiesty. Time is 9 p.m. EST. Enjoy the video sneak.

And in news bizarre, 74 people were stuffed into three vans — which usually can carry no more than 11 people each — in a bold attempt to smash through the U.S./Mexico border and allegedly smuggle people in illegally. Four were hurt when American agents fired on the vans. The border at San Diego was shut down for hours, causing major traffic. Everybody involved is in custody. About 40,000 vehicles enter the U.S. each day at the San Ysidro crossing.
