Carrie, this brings so many warm memories of my family, he is wonderful! and yes I noticed Maria cheating in the game, it's something my son would do as well :) I loved playing pick-up sticks, in Mexico we call them palillos chinos. Carrie, I am in tears laughing at how adorable your dad is with your daughter. And I love that he’s speaking Spanish to her and explaining that 18 is double of what she had. That’s a math and language lesson all rolled into one, and she probably won’t be grateful for it until she’s got her own kids but she’ll always look back fondly on the time spent playing with her abuelito…

The enthusiasm your dad plays/wins with is similar to what it’s like when our family plays dominoes. I don’t have any kids yet, but my husband is the tramposo cochino in our house–whether it’s dominoes, cartas or Monopoly! I have a feeling our future kids are going to be little cheaters just like their Papi. LMNO
