I too am a list maker. I don't cook every day because I don't have time, even though I really love cooking. So the Saturday (in my case) list helps me figure out what to shop for on the weekend. I do most of my cooking on the weekend or early in the week. And I love food, so I like the idea of having more food/recipe writing and sharing!

Thank you for introducing me to Laylita’s Recipes–amazing recipes and beautiful photos. But what I cook at home is fusion between all the latin stuff I ate growing up and my dominican cuisine.I have a mean craving for dominican pastelitos so I'll likely make those. Maybe some bistec guisado. I learned to make a delicious sicilian lasagna from my mom who learned that from our upstairs sicilian neighbor in Jersey. At some point we'll make beans and cornbread since my hubby is from the south and loves a batch of that (to which I add homemade sofrito).

I’m actually google window browsing for a good cuban picadillo like I used to get at church down in Miami growing up. I made sure to make lots of caldo so the next day I used it to make rice and lentil beans. It was very flavorful.

Last week I made pollo guisado w/roasted peppers and garlic. Our recipes this time of year depend a lot on what we get from our farm share. This week I'm cooking these dinners: 1) Spicy-Sweet Onion Chicken with Smashed Potatoes/Cauliflower (adaptation of a Rachael Ray recipe); 2) Chicken Tikka with Rice; 3)Marta's Cuban Pizza, 4) Eggplant and Chicken Moussaka casserole (adaptation of a Tyler Florence recipe), and 5) Macarrones con Chorizo. I may also make some Gazpacho and/or Tomate Frito, depending on how many tomatoes I have. I'm also baking up some Chocolate Banana Bread and Lemon Raspberry Pound Cake. Oh, and thank you for shouting out Laylita's site...I'd somehow missed it and I love it!

I am totally like your husband with the list making (and you, like mine, with the shrug…he’ll try/eat anything, without discrimination).
