Im basically like your husband too. I make a list on what'll be the mennu for the week since I think it can save more money and time when going to groceries! I always want to have noodles and steaks on my weekly menu so pretty much I know what to buy already!

Thanks for sharing!

Keep it up! Good job!

Your plan sounds very easy. This week is been a little hard for me, we are in a repair, remodeled old house project and it is really draining me out! Is a hard job to choose materials and make the right decision, driving more than 200 miles to pick and choose, spending hours in a store, and then comparing prices, etc, etc, hufffff! So this week are are eating outside more because we are on the road more than in the house. Yesterday we visit a small restaurant for lunch, we ordered fish, vegetable of the day, supposedly green beans and a baked potato, plus salad bar. A nice young girl took care of us, and bring us the news that they were out of baked potato, so we changed to hash browns. We went for our salad, the plates were all dirty and greesy, I checked them all, so my brain started working, and I couldn't imagine how I was going enjoyed my food thinking about nasty kitchens. Well, we didn't want to hurt nobody, so we sit and wait for our food. The girl brought us the fish, a little undone for my taste, they were out of green beans, so she brought us corn (tasted awful and looked very old), the hash wasn't too bad, so I ate a little of everything and asked for a doggy bag and dumped the rest of the food. I know for sure that the best place to eat is at home, because at least you know what are you putting into your body, and that my friends is all what it matters!!! My Plan for next week is stay at home and cook clean, healthy food for me and my husband, and give my old body a rest!!!! :)

Thank you for introducing me to Laylita's Recipes--amazing recipes and beautiful photos. I too am a list maker. I don't cook every day because I don't have time, even though I really love cooking. So the Saturday (in my case) list helps me figure out what to shop for on the weekend. I do most of my cooking on the weekend or early in the week. And I love food, so I like the idea of having more food/recipe writing and sharing!

I'm actually google window browsing for a good cuban picadillo like I used to get at church down in Miami growing up. But what I cook at home is fusion between all the latin stuff I ate growing up and my dominican cuisine.

I have a mean craving for dominican pastelitos so I'll likely make those. Maybe some bistec guisado. I learned to make a delicious sicilian lasagna from my mom who learned that from our upstairs sicilian neighbor in Jersey. At some point we'll make beans and cornbread since my hubby is from the south and loves a batch of that (to which I add homemade sofrito).
