Great giveaway! I loved The House On Mango Street by Cisneros and recently I read and really enjoyed Into The Beautiful North by Urrea.
I think the synopsis of all the books in this giveaway sound good and it would be too early to pick a favorite but the one I would read first because it deals with family issues is Tell Me Something True.

A Hispanic novel that recently spoke to me was “Tear This Heart Out” by Angeles Mastretta. Its story about Mexican history was so interesting with such deeply developed characters.

I’ve read many Latino books that have spoken to me some deeper than others. This semester one of the books my students are reading is “when I was Puerto Rican” by Esmeralda Santiago to facilitate discussion on bicultural identity of Latinos….
